innolectric has investigated the properties of nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials together with CBMM, the world leader in niobium products. The international project delivered impressive results: Charging components designed with NSMM have a significant increase in efficiency.

Our project management presented this study at the China SAE Congress & Exhibition (SAECCE) in late 2024. Project Manager Felix Burmeister, innolectric: “It is very pleasing to be able to present the results of our work to a wide audience. The application of testing the material in a charging component for electromobility fits perfectly with innolectric’s core competence”.

The innovative soft magnetic core material with niobium was tested in practice in an innolectric on-board charger. In order to achieve the best possible results, the functional properties, thermal behaviour and electromagnetic interference behaviour were tested directly in an existing system architecture.
