With the new D3C, innolectric offers an innovative module for electrically powered vehicles that reliably enables charging communication according to the international standards CCS1, CCS2 and NACS. It supports the standards IEC 61851, DIN SPEC 70121 and ISO 15118-20. The module is now available to customers in higher volumes following a successful poduction launch.

The innolectric D3C is designed for vehicles that operate in challenging environments and require high performance. DC fast charging places high demands on the communication between the charging infrastructure and the vehicle. These requirements vary depending on the charging standard in use. The innolectric charge controller supports these different charging standards. These include CCS2 and CCS1 as well as the NACS charging standard.

The charging communication module operates in accordance with the DIN SPEC 70121 and ISO 15118-20 standards and meets the requirements of the UN ECE R10 standard. innolectric has taken into account the current ISO 15118-20 standard to enable reliable DC charging even with future functional extensions. The module has proven itself in extensive field tests and series production has started.

The D3C was completely developed and tested at the company’s location in Bochum, Germany, and is an important addition to the innolectric portfolio. The positive feedback from our first customers confirms that fast charging is becoming more and more important and that the D3C is convincing.”

The D3C provides all the functions required for charging via the vehicle CAN. These include plug detection and locking, temperature monitoring and contactor control. The module has its own stack for charging communication. This allows continuous stack maintenance and updates for the customer.

The DC charge controller can be customized to meet specific customer requirements. This includes adapting the signal to the desired application and adapting the communication interface to specific requirements. Support for integration with partners for the charging infrastructure is also part of the scope of services. innolectric offers software and hardware development from a single source. This deep understanding of charging technology enables comprehensive customer support for the integration of the pioneering standard ISO 15118-20. Pre-configuration of the D3C to the customer’s peripherals is also possible.

The standard housing is extremely robust and can be used in demanding applications. The module measures 197 x 154 x 44 mm and weighs 0.9 kg.  The module is also available as a white label. Integration into custom housings or module solutions is also possible.
